Meet the Author

I started writing at a very early age and have published numerous magazine articles and I finally decided at the urging of my family, to sit down and write a full length work of fiction. In grade school I decided that I wanted a career in the military, following in my Uncle's footsteps; he served in the United States Army in Europe in 1945 and in Korea. Unfortunately, being very color blind, I realized in my senior year in high school, that a career in the military was out of the question. Since I was already an avid student of military history, American and especially Canadian, I decided that my writing would reflect my family background and my own martial studies.

Books such as 'Guadalcanal Diary', 'The One Hundred Days of Lieutenant Ian McHorton', 'Ghosts Have Warm Hands';  and the dual work by Great War historian, Tim Cook, at the Great War Museum as well as an adjunct research professor at Carlton University, 'At The Sharp End' and 'Shock Troops', influence the flavor of my writing. I have done a great deal of research on US Navy SEAL's using as part of my research and resource material, the excellent and fine works of Captain Dick Couch, United States Navy SEAL (retired). I want my writing to reflect three things; accuracy, accuracy and accuracy.

I realized within the very first paragraph of putting words on paper so-to-speak, that I wanted my writing to include Canadian characters as well as units and famous vessels from Canadian history.

I have a diploma in Geology and a Bachelor's Degree in Theology.  I strongly believe that it isn't what we take from life that makes us rich, but rather what we give back to life that enriches our lives. As such, I try in some small way to practice that on a daily basis in every facet of my life.

I am currently working in the oil and gas industry in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. An avid shooter and re-loader, I have been shooting all my life. I'm passionate about every aspect of my life and especially motorcycles, kayaks, running and my favorite martial arts discipline; Traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate.  Time with my wife, children and five grandchildren is a key and integral component of my everyday life. I have four grandsons and one granddaughter who very much enjoy being taken for ice cream and going for rides on her Papa's motorcycle.
