The characters in the Element series are a team of SEAL's doing what they do best; strategic reconnaissance, or gathering hard intelligence. The OIC, or Officer in Charge is Lieutenant Thomas Daniel Jackson and his mission is to find out what happened to the team of physicists working on a black intel project and if possible, to recover the object of their research, a geological discovery of vast energy potential code-named 'Element'.
I have taken the most famous of the Tribal Class destroyer's from Canadian history, the HMCS Haida, populated her ranks with Canadians and introduced her as a hunter-killer fleet destroyer in the Confederate Navy.
The main Confederate force is centered around the USS Lexington, affectionately known as the 'Lady', and a typical American Carrier Battle Group led by the irascible and gutsy Admiral David Greig, that is acting as a blocking force in front of the main Caldarian Armada.
